II have a maintenance agreement on my vehicle from the dealership. I was scheduled for a tire rotation and 12 point safety check/vehicle inspection. I was told by the Toyota service advisor that everything was fine, no problems or issues were found, including the tires, engine filter, and cabin filter. My maintenance contract calls for an oil change every 10,000 miles; however, I have my oil and filter changed every 5,000 miles. So Kaufman's is my and has been my go-to place for many years. I went there for an oil change. I checked in with Roger Kaufman and he advised that I was scheduled for a couple of other maintenance needs that the dealership missed, which were clearly on my vehicles computerized records. As I was waiting for the oil change to be completed Roger showed me the cabin air filter, which was filthy with dust, dirt, and leaves - obviously the look-see at my cabin air filter was overlooked or not done by the mechanic at the dealership. In addition, Roger found a nail or screw in my tire which the dealership also missed. The nail or screw was in the tire where it would become necessary to replace the tire. Roger said he would plug it as a temporary fix until I could get to Goodyear for a replacement tire. The moral of this story is have a back-up auto mechanic if you rely on a dealership. If you want one who is very professional, thorough and detailed oriented, go to Kaufman's Auto Repair. Roger and his team of mechanics are the best, they inspect and work on your car as if it were their own. I go away for the summer and drive my car to our summer place. I now have the confidence that there will be no auto maintenance or tire issues which should have been caught at the dealership. If Roger had not gone the extra mile as he always does, I could have very well been stuck on the road waiting for a tow from AAA. If you're not happy with your current auto repair shop OR dealership, you owe it to yourself to visit Kaufman's, you will not be disappointed!
