Sarasota Auto Repair

We were vacationing in Cape Coral, Florida, and decided to visit an art museum in Sarasota. When we got there, our van was leaking antifreeze. We googled for the nearest mechanic and found very good reviews for Kaufman's Auto Repairs. We left the family at the museum and headed to the shop. As soon as we got there, we felt that God sent us to the right place. The owner was very attentive and helpful. He immediately told us what was wrong with the vehicle and with our okay, started working on it. He made us feel comfortable, offered us pizza for lunch, and to pick up our family at the museum if needed. He saved our day by fixing our van quickly and efficiently so we could go about our day and enjoy the rest of our vacation. In an unfamiliar area far from our daily norm, the last thing we needed was for our van to break down. We may have felt worried at first, but thanks to Kaufman's Auto Repairs, we had the peace of mind that we were going to make it back to Cape Coral and eventually home safely without any car troubles. We truly appreciate it. The place is super clean (especially the bathroom!! like, WOW), the employees are kind, and, for your comfort, there are snacks, coffee, and a TV in the waiting room. Roger and his staff were very friendly and helpful. I Brought in a 2012 VW Jetta with the Transmission failing. Needless to say a high ticket item that no one wants. I was debating to do the repair or scrap the car but I had kept the car clean and already replaced several critical parts in it which had me on the fence. I let Roger do a diagnostic test on the car to find out what else might need to be repaired to see if it was worth it to move forward with a Transmission replacement. His diagnostic was very thorough and he went above and beyond to find a used transmission with a warranty to keep my cost to a minimum. The diagnostic came back with a lot of suggestions that I am now aware of which will allow me to budget some time and money to get these things done in the future based on the car itself and priority. I asked Roger what needed to be done right now in addition to the transmission and he mentioned the back breaks were paper thin. I was wondering because just days before I thought I heard some metal to metal grinding on the car at a roll and his analysis just confirmed it. He also mentioned some other things I was aware of but was holding off on those things for a reason. Needless to say I went ahead with the transmission replacement and the rear brake repair. Roger never once tried to press the issue on some of the other repairs and seam to understand my position. He was very honest and upfront and I feel like he saved me a lot of money. The car seams to be riding great and I am now aware of some other up coming issues if I don't get them taken care of soon. I can say that I am glad to have come across Kaufman Auto Repair.
